Our Sambal came to us on a trip to Bali, learning from the households and locals how to make an essential condiment that spices their everyday lives. With this hot sauce, we would like to honor Indonesian culture and the richness of its flavors. We brought the flavors and memories back with us, and our Sambal is our representation of that–our authentic expression.
55% of our Sambal is made of rescued ingredients. It is made with fermented red chilis, which have slowly fermented for over a month, and a base of roasted tomatoes, with macadamia nuts, lemongrass, ginger, and kefir lime. Use it naturally for any Indonesian dish, but also as a base for any aromatic dish, as a side to add hotness and aroma, in your soup or to a curry stew.
Ingredients: chili peppers, tomatoes, brandy vinegar, shallots, garlic, olive oil, raw sugar, ginger, lemongrass, kaffir limes, macademia nuts. This is a vegan + gluten-free product.
